A KNIFE OF THEIR OWN
Over a year ago, SIRIN approached Ukraine’s most celebrated blade craftsman, KRAVA Cut with the idea to design an official issue blade for Ukrainian Special Operations Forces (SSO).
Inspired by the legendary US Army Green Beret “YARBOROUGH” Knife, our team set out to make a blade that would not only serve as a powerful symbol of the SSO warrior’s many massive unspoken accomplishments and sacrifices, but also serve as a versatile and functional field knife.
Through numerous iterations, KravaCut created a full tang compound grind blade with 3 discrete top and bottom sharpened edges, a fierce stabbing point, and serrated spine plus jimping grip texture. As a tribute to the stealthy, frequent nighttime operations of SSO behind enemy lines, the knife was given a black Cerakote™ finish and matching black G10 composite CNC handle. The resulting final design captured the essence of the classic Yarborough, completely reinterpreted by modern Ukrainian ingenuity.
Although intended to be exclusively issued to SSO operators upon completion of their Q Course, 9 extremely rare “Civilian Editions” of these handcrafted blades will be auctioned to the public for the purposes of fundraising for SSO. All proceeds will go to SSO ‘8-1-1’, the first SSO unit to have received the SILENT Knife.
Each blade is laser-etched on its front face with a unique 4-digit serial number, indicating its order of manufacture and issue. The “Civilian Editions” of this particular knife are 0031 - 0039. Their blade’s top edge is inscribed with the official long form name of SSO in Ukrainian — “СИЛИ СПЕЦІАЛЬНИХ ОПЕРАЦІЙ ЗСУ”, as well as the names of our collaboration team, “KRAVA CUT x СІРІН “. Meanwhile the blade’s reverse face bears the ‘K’ insignia of its maker, KRAVA CUT.
Lastly, each SILENT Knife comes with a high quality snap tight, molded Kydex black sheath with Tek Lok™ mount for both belt and Molle as well as a certificate of authenticity.
